The Month of the Holy Prophet

Shaban/ Shabaan
The month of Sha’ban is the 8th month of the Islamic calendar and the month in which the holy night of Shab-e-Baraat is celebrated. In Persian it is called 'Laiela tul Mubarakah' and in Urdu, it is called 'Shab-e Bara’at'. (Night of forgiveness)the fifteenth night of Sha'ban.
The entire Month of Sha’ban is Blessed,with Numerous Blessing, and Spirituals Advancement. As it is the month of Prophet Muhammad (Sallal Laahu ‘Alaiehi Wa Sallam) Hazrat Abu Huraira (Radi Allaahu-Anhu) has reported that Prophet (Sallal Laahu ‘Alaiehi Wa Sallam) has said:
“Rajab is the month of Allaah Ta’aala, Sha’baan is my month and Ramadan is the month of my Ummah. In Sha’ban sins are forgiven by Allaah Ta’aala and in Ramadan my people are completely purified from sins.”
There are many Hadees of Prophet Muhammad (Sallal Laahu ‘Alaiehi Wa Sallam) in which he described the Virtue and Blessings of this month.
Sha’ban is also an introduction to Ramadan and it has same things in common with Ramadan, such as fasting, reciting Holy Quran and giving in charity. It has been narrated that upon the arrival of Rajab the Holy Prophet (Sallal Laahu ‘Alaiehi Wa Sallam) used to pray
“O’ Allaah! Bless us abundantly in Rajab and Sha’baan and deliver us safely unto Ramadan.”
